CO-FOUNDER BRAIN AND SPINE SURGEONS OF ORANGE COUNTY
Drs. Christopher Duma and Richard Kim are the co-founders of “Brain and Spine Surgeons of Orange County.” Aptly named, they perform university-level brain and spine surgery within a setting of private practice, at the best hospitals in the Los Angeles County. Dr. Duma is a pioneer in the surgical and radiosurgical management of brain tumors and has published numerous book chapters and journal articles on these topics. Dr. Kim is a Yale-trained specialist in the surgical management of epilepsy, and is NYU-trained in complex spine surgery.
Dr. Duma and Dr. Kim also specialize in the surgical management of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, and both are experts in the minimally invasive management of neurosurgical problems. They hold academic appointments at the University of California at City of Irvine, but fully care for their patients themselves without medical students, or resident intermediaries. This allows the utmost of personal touch and accountability toward the highest level of patient care.
All areas of brain and spine surgery are covered by these two board certified neurosurgeons. Patients from around the country and world have traveled for their expertise. Hospital affiliations include Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian (voted the best hospital in Orange County 4 years in a row), UC Irvine Medical Center (voted among the top 100 hospitals in the country by Solucient, Corp.), Children’s Hospital of Orange County, and South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach.
As brain and spine surgeons in the Los Angeles County, Dr. Duma and Dr. Kim pride themselves on attaining the highest level of surgical and personal care for their patients, with the most modern of approaches: "Thank you for your interest in our institution."
